According To News, Happiness Is No Longer Possible; World Too Crazy
If you listen to the news without the healthy defense of perspective, you can easily begin to think that the world is so crazy happiness is no longer possible or, at least, a highly irresponsible proclivity.
As you well know, from the time we wake up until the time we doze off, the news presents the most egregious outrages it can assemble, as if to demand of us, "With all this mayhem and other craziness going on, how can you dare to be happy?"
Since it would be a sorry world if nobody was ...Read the rest of this entry »
CAN WE LAUGH NOW?
I find it difficult, if not impossible, to believe that anyone can get through any given day in our society without a sense of humor. Granted, on the surface there do seem to be fewer current events that can inspire a giggle. However, if we examine the events in our personal lives, I am convinced there is plenty of material to motivate a little humor.
I do recognize that the ability to laugh in the face of...shall we say questionable circumstances, requires a great deal more effort in some, and ...Read the rest of this entry »

Geri Haliwel(teeny bop all-girl group Spice Girls) has a passion for her Shih-Tzu named Harry. It is reported that she takes the dog everywhere. The dog is not only her best friend but is treated like a
beloved off-spring. Harry was a rescue dog before he was
taken into the home of this world famous pop star.

at a disadvantage. But this breed has always been ...Read the rest of this entry »
Belly Dance Bloopers
What can I say? If it could happen, it did happen to me!
Just about every dancer out there has a blooper story to tell. Bloopers are almost like a right of passage and there are a lot of us out there that are seasoned!
Bloopers can happen for many reasons; like you forgot to check your costume and make sure your snaps and hooks are sewn on tightly. I mean, when you dance every weekend and perform 2 to 4 shows in a night your costumes will start to suffer. I had ten costumes that I checked and ...Read the rest of this entry »
Tallywhacker Bush Bats and the Doo Doo Eating Dog
One weekend about 15 or so years ago, (my God, has it been that long?) my cousin Jeff and I loaded up his son Jason, aged ten, and my son Sean aged eight, along with Jeff's black labrador retriever named Sam and off we went to four-wheel it through the marshy bottoms to camp out on Jeff's 43 acres of land that lies on both sides of the South Sulphur River. A few years later, we built a cabin that we still go camping at every year, but in those days our campsite consisted pretty much of tents, ...Read the rest of this entry »
Old Phil Propagated A Good Old Hoax
It began as all things begin n a long period of boredom with nothing exciting to do. Whoever said, "Idle hands are the devil's workshop," knew something of what they were speaking.
As the story was told to me, it went something like this: It was toward the end of January, a long cold January at that. A group of groundhogs who were supposed to be hibernating were afflicted with a bad case of insomnia.
You know how it is. It has happened to you many times, I am sure. You are supposed to be asleep ...Read the rest of this entry »
All I want for Christmas is Ewe
I hate Christmas. Last year the wife bought me a 'Rudolf' umbrella just so she could use the line, 'It looks line rain dear'. My decision to kick her out of the house was perfectly justified.
In a freakish coincidence, I saw another umbrella as a result of her mother's gift. I can't complain too much though, it had a street value of £35.
The Premiership's very own 'Rudolf' will soon be joining me in the miserable corner. Fergie's title aspirations received a Hammer blow last week; the Villa ...Read the rest of this entry »
